Fartlek Friday

Fartlek Friday: Run. Train. Chill.

Not your average run club! Fartlek Friday is a monthly training session for Amsterdam’s running community—runner who want to become better!

Here’s the deal:

  • When: Every last Friday of the month. Meet at 18:30, start at 18:45.

  • Where: Start and finish at Oedipus. You can leave your stuff and change there.

  • What: A proper workout, including:

    • 3–4k warm-up

    • Fartlek session (shared 5 days in advance in our WhatsApp group)

    • 3k cool-down

  • After: Beer and snacks at Oedipus (first round’s on us!).

This isn’t about jogging 5k and grabbing coffee—this is real training inspired by athletics clubs but with the fun of a running crew. We’re not a team or club; we’re a gathering of runners from across Amsterdam, training and celebrating together.

Our goal? Bring the city’s running community together, train hard, and have a great time.

Join us!

ROAD TO ROFFA

If you want to go fast go alone.
If you want to go far go together

Road to Roffa

Long runs are the cornerstone of marathon training, but let’s face it—they can get a little boring from time to time. So why not make them a bit more fun? Join Road to Roffa, where we turn those essential training miles into a fun, social, and rewarding experience. Whether you’re preparing for the Rotterdam Marathon or another spring race, these four unique sessions will help you train smarter, not harder.

Why Road to Roffa?

This isn’t just about clocking miles. It’s about making your long runs more enjoyable and productive, with a little help from the experts.

Session 1:

  • This training is about technique and marathon blocks.

  • We start the run with some learnings about the right technic for efficiency and injury prevention.

  • After that we will starting building our marathon form with some blocks. (total distance will be 15-20km)

    Session 2-3
Welcome to the long run. You don't have to do this alone with your podcast but with a crew around you who motivates you.

  • Choose your distance: 30km, or 35km—whatever fits your plan.

  • Each run has a theme to take your training to the next level:

  • Nutrition: Learn about nutrition from Maurten nutrition expert and start practicing your fueling strategy so there are no surprises on race day.

  • Recovery: Learn how to bounce back stronger after those big efforts.

  • We will have experienced pacers, so all you have to focus on is putting one foot in front of the other.

  • Water (and bottle) stations every 5km to keep you hydrated and energized.

    Session 4:

  • A relaxed, easy-paced run dedicated to mental preparation.

  • We will learn how to train without training. How to prepare yourself for the big day!

Road to Roffa Calendar

Here’s when we’ll hit the road:

  • Session 1: Thursday, 13 February at 18:30

  • Session 2: Sunday, 2 March at 9:00

  • Session 3: Sunday, 23 March at 9:00

  • Session 4: Monday, 7 April at 19:00

EUROTRIP 2025

EUROTRIP 2025

Edition 4 of EuroTrip is coming and you better be ready.

Edition 4 of EuroTrip is coming and you better be ready.

EuroTrip is a teamrace. The race connects runners, cities and Europe as a whole. EuroTrip shows that running is bigger than borders and that team work makes the dream work.

Each team consists of 6 to 8 runners. Teams are free to switch as much as they want between runners, but with one rule: there is always at least one runner running.

Previous editions:

1. Bruges – Cologne
2. Cologne – Strasbourg
3. Strasbourg – Innsbruck

The fourth edition will be epic. We will have a beautiful course starting in Innsbruck and through Italy to the capital of Slovenia: Ljubljana. What to expect: mountains, forest and cute cities.

We will have a suggested route again. This route is safe, scenery and fast. You are not obliged to take this route. The only mandatory things are the several checkpoints which will be revealed 2 weeks prior to the race. Total distance will be approximate 430km.

  • The race will start in Innsbruck on Friday/Saturday night June 6/7th. We will have 2 starting times. One for the recreational team and one for the racing teams. Exact location and exact time will be announced later..

Before the start there will be meetup (not mandatory) where teams can meet each other and do the final race-prep with snacks, food and music. Hanging out with the competition has never been better.

  • Easy does it, EuroTrip has only one rule: every team has to make their way from Innsbruck to Ljubljana by foot and pass all the mandatory checkpoints along the way.

To register we have a few requirements:

    • Every team needs to have 6 to 8 runners with a minimum of 2 women per team

    • Race teams should have an average HM pace of 1:30. Recreational teams: 1:45. This requirement makes it possible to have all team on time for the after party!

    • We will have a tracker. Runners or cyclist should have these on them at all times.

Regarding safety we have a few guidelines:

    • Run safe.

    • We will have a suggested route, this is not mandatory. This route will mostly skip car roads.
For teams who make their own route. Please do not take highways.

    • We recommend bike support for each runner. This for safety but also for navigation. This is not mandatory but advised. If your team is not able to bring a bike please let us know so we can help you with this.
Wear lights in the dark (front and back!) and bring enough clothing to keep warm (or cool).

    • Drive safe.

    • We recommend 2/3 drivers so they all get enough rest(who are allowed to run)

    • Run with your phone or have a clear course plan to avoid runners getting lost.

  • Because we are growing we have 3 accommodations this year. They are different in price class so everybody can choose their own needs.

BUDGET = hostel, 4-8 person rooms with shared bathroom
STANDARD = b&b 2-3 person rooms with private bathroom
LUXURY = hotel, 2 person rooms with private bathroom

All accommodations are including breakfast on Monday.

Included in the registration fee is the standard option. If you want luxury this will be 15 euro more per person and budget will give a 10 euro discount per person.

All hotels have a limited amount of rooms. When you option is full we will put you in a different hotel (and price class).

Only side-note: we don’t want to spread teams in different hotels so you can only decide for the whole team.

If you want to stay longer send us an email so we can easily arrange it for you.

For cheering people or people who just come for the final party we can also arrange rooms. Just send us an email

Details of the hotel will be shared later.

  • To keep EuroTrip unique and special we have limited the amount of teams to 35. Every team needs to have 6 to 8 runners with a minimum of 2 women per team. No all-male teams allowed.

    The registration process is easy.
Press the button below answer all questions and pay the first part for the race (€400,-). Only after we have received the payment, the registration is final!

So be quick, because in the case the race is full and you have not yet paid the fee for you team, we cannot allow you into EuroTrip.

It is possible to change some names after registering. We will ask you to make them final in January.

If you want to register but don’t have a full team you can also register as solo runner and we will match you with other solo runners (if we have enough) or teams. Just email us: info@indierunner.nl.

The race costs EUR 170 per runner. The following is included in the price:

    – A unique and unforgettable race experience
    – Team kit
    – Event souvenir
    – Standard hotel room from Sunday to Monday in Ljubljana (luxury = +EUR 15 per person, budget = -EUR 10 per person)
    – Afterparty on Sunday
    – Goodbye breakie on Monday morning

    For your own costs:
    – Team car/van
    – Gas
    – Travel to start and from finish
    – Drinks and food during race

  • The finish is in the beautiful city of Ljubljana. The exact finish location will be announced 2 weeks prior to the race. We would love to see teams finish as a team, so with all 8 runners. To make that happen there will be a parking spot next to the finish so everyone can join the last running teammate for the final meters of the race.

We expect all teams to finish on Sunday between 09.00 and 13:00. After finishing you can go with your team to the hotel and shower (and nap) before the final party.

The final party is on Sunday evening and is for all runners and drivers. The location is in the city centre of Ljubljana. Save the last bit of energy you have left to show some moves on the dancefloor and enjoy some well deserved drinks.
